One Health – challenges and opportunities
Susanna Sternberg Lewerin, veterinarian and professor in Epizootiology & Disease Prevention, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences
The “One Health”-concept encompasses the ecosystem of animals, plants, people, and the environment we share. Global health challenges are complex and require systematic thinking and collaboration between disciplines. To address these challenges in research, there is a need to combine and balance in-depth knowledge, an overarching perspective, global and local interests and use transdisciplinary efforts. SLU Future One Health supports SLU researchers in transdisciplinary research within the entire One Health field.
This Friday we get to meet Susanna; a veterinarian, educator, researcher, and program director for SLU Future One Health. She is well versed in the fields of infectious animal disease as well as antibiotics resistance and the prevention of disease spreading.
SLU One Health welcomes potential research collaboration and research support!
When: Friday, February 17, 08.30
Where: Green Innovation Park Uppsala
